I have been hired by Orange Computers as a Industrial and Organizational Psychologist to help with their work environment. Ever since they started offering 24/7 customer service, those in a seniority position do not work weekends and all those who are fairly new have gotten stuck with working less desired hours like over night and weekends. The manager of this department was promoted and tends to favor those seniority employees being that that was his group he was hired with followed by being promoted.
Actionable Items:
- Balancing the number of days and shifts between different customer care workers regardless of their seniority levels.
- The payments for workers working on weekend shifts should be slightly increased.
- Five days in a row working agreement should be put in place.
- Both senior and junior employees should each take one shift off on different days of the weekends instead of making it look like it is a regular working day for junior staffs only.
